UHS Partners with American Heart Association for Wear Red Event
United Health Services(UHS), in partnership with the American Heart Association, hosts a national wear red day event to highlight the impact of heart disease on women.
The event raises awareness of heart disease, the leading cause of death among women.
The speakers included UHS leadership, a local heart patient sharing her story, and community health advocates.
UHS also donated CPR anytime kits to local high schools, further highlighting CPR education.
The event ultimately stressed the importance of a heart‑healthy lifestyle, to help empower women to take charge of their heart health.
Jamie Wood, Vice President of Development with the American Heart Association of CNY said," on national wear red day. It's not just about what we wear. It's about what we stand for. We wear red to be seen, to be heard, to be counted, and to make an impact."
The American Heart Association is also inviting the community out to the southern tier heart walk taking place on Sunday, April 26.
