New L.A. County Public Health campaign aims to train residents in hands-only CPR
A new initiative by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is aiming to train residents to perform hands-only CPR.
The goal of the "L.A. County Heart Heroes 2023 Campaign” is to teach half a million county residents by December 31st.
“Knowing how to provide hands-only CPR0 can help save a loved one's life while firefighters lifeguards and deputies are on their way,” L.A. County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone said. “It can double even triple a victim's chance of survival.”
“Everyone can learn this, learn it quickly,” L.A. County Health Director Barbara Ferrer said. “You can actually make sure that other people learn this skill as well.”
More training events will be held throughout the year at big events like games, concerts, and even campuses.
