Hero bystanders give woman CPR as air ambulance lands in Stoke

Caring bystanders gave CPR to a woman in a 'critical condition' as the air ambulance touched down. Two ambulances were also sent to the scene in Stoke.

Today West Midlands Ambulance Service says paramedics scrambled to the 'medical emergency' on Boothen Green just after 2.20pm on Saturday (July 18) restarted the woman's heart.

A spokeswoman said: "We were called to a medical emergency in Boothen Green. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and a Midlands Air Ambulance responded.

"Crews arrived to find a woman in a critical condition being given CPR by bystanders. Crews immediately took over resuscitation efforts and managed to restart her heart. She was conveyed by land ambulance to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further emergency care."
