Rottinghouse was convicted of Sexual Assault on a Child in US Military Court in 2017. He is a white man, 34 years old, 5-foot-10, 160 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He’s registered as living at 3718 Lander Lane.  This is near Academy and just North of Constitution.

CSPD will “make all reasonable efforts to ensure that Rottinghaus registers as a sex offender and that he understands his responsibilities as such.”

CSPD has also notified the Colorado Department of Public Safety’s Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB) Notification Team, as well as reviewing Rottinghaus’s residence, past crimes and other key details. Patrol personnel have been briefed on that information.

Neighbors and businesses in the area have been notified, as have surrounding law enforcement agencies.

Rottinghaus is one of twenty “sexually violent predators” registered with CSPD and living in the community. In a release, CSPD wrote “The Colorado Springs Police Department takes his presence in our community very seriously and is intent on insuring he conducts himself in a lawful manner and that our citizens remain safe and aware.”
