City employees train in life-saving skills
The Southeast Health Foundation is hosting a HeartSafe “Press the Chest” CPR training event at several locations around the Wiregrass from June 1 – June 7 as part of National CPR and AED Awareness Week.
On Thursday, the Dothan Fire Department and Southeast Alabama Emergency Medical Services held free CPR and AED training classes for the City of Dothan employees at the Westgate Recreation Center and the Wiregrass Public Safety Center.
Over 100 employees participated in the sessions as part of the city’s commitment to becoming a more heart-friendly place to live and work.
Dothan Leisure Services is promoting CPR and AED education by holding training classes on Friday, June 2 for all summer camp counselors before camps start next week.
The Heartsafe “Press the Chest” CPR training events will be at Circle City Brewing on Thursday, June 2, SARCOA on Monday, June 5th, Southeast Alabama Emergency Medical Services offices on Tuesday, June 6, and Adams Beverages on Wednesday, June 7.
In recognition of AED Awareness Week, the Water World Water Tower will “dance” each night to the beat of Stayin’ Alive and I Will Survive. Tune in your radio to 88.1 to listen to the music.
