Alert Railway staff gives CPR, saves passenger's life
Ajay Rawal, who was travelling with his wife from Gandhinagar to Borivali in the Gandhinagar-Mumbai Central Shatabdi Express began feeling uneasy during the journey and fainted.
The news reached Rakesh Mittal, on-duty station superintendent at Nadiad station and he got an ambulance and other arrangements ready with a stretcher brought to the platform.
Rawal's condition was critical with irregular breathing. Pointsman Jayesh Medha and Mittal started administering CPR after which Rawal regained consciousness.
Thereafter, he was immediately taken to the MahaGujarat Hospital in Nadiad. Chief public relations officer of Western Railway, Sumit Thakur said the staff have been trained in giving CPR so that they can assist.
