TNCC was developed by the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) to provide Registered Nurses with a standardized approach to Trauma Nursing.
Prerequisites
TNCC is intended only for Registered Nurses. Learners must have an active RN license to participate. (LPNs and Paramedics may attend for continuing education but will not be issued a provider card).

At the end of the course, you’re required to pass a written examination to demonstrate your understanding of the material. Additionally, you’ll need to pass a practical assessment of essential trauma nursing skills, such as patient assessment, airway management, and hemorrhage control.
The course has two exams: a skills test with a passing score of 70% or higher, and an online written exam with a passing score of 80% or higher. Usually, the written exam must be completed within seven days of the course and consists of 50 questions with a two-hour time limit. Upon successful completion, you’ll be awarded a TNCC credential.
Don’t forget to check your TNCC certification renewal date and complete a fast-track renewal course before it expires. You’re required to renew it every four years. This helps you to refresh your knowledge and skills in trauma care, ensuring you provide the best possible care to patients.

They are 1-2 days depending on the course. Recertificaiton courses are 1 day and Initial Provider Courses are 2 days, approximately 8 hours each day.
TNCC Challenge Course
