What is the AHA ACLS and PALS Precourse Work for 2023?

The ACLS and PALS Precourse Self-Assessment is an online tool that evaluates a student’s knowledge in 3 sections: rhythm recognition, pharmacology, and practical application. Students complete the assessment before the course to help evaluate their proficiency and determine the need for additional review and practice before the course. All students must complete the Precourse Self-Assessment and achieve a score of at least 70% before taking the ACLS Course. Students must print their scoring report and bring it with them to class.

The precourse work for the American Heart Association ACLS Course takes about 4 hours total. You'll first take the traditional pretest that AHA has now made mandatory and this takes 45 minutes to an hour. Then, you'll watch all the classroom videos before you come to class.

For the ACLS Precourse work, follow this link. Don't try to find the link on your own, because if you choose the wrong one, you'll have to repeat the hour long pretest in order to get to the videos.

To start the precourse work for ACLS go to elearning.heart.org and login or create a new account.

Then click this link: https://elearning.heart.org/course/424 When you are done, please text a picture of your certificate to (719) 551-1222 or simply email it. This will ensure that you get your ACLS Card right after class, and I don't have to look up your email or phone number and try to contact you to send the precourse work to me.

The PALS Precourse work takes 5 hours total. There is one extra hour of videos.

For the PALS Precourse work, go to  https://elearning.heart.org/course/426 When you are done, please text a picture of your certificate to (719) 551-1222 or simply email it.
